Data

Information collected in an organised way when carrying out a project or research study.

Element

A part of something; one of the parts into which a whole may be broken down into through analysis.


Empirical

Originating in or based on experience or observation; as in empirical data.


Entity

Something that exists separately from other things and has a clear identity of its own.


Environment

The conditions that people live, spend time in and the way that they influence how they (people) feel or behave.

Field

A place in the real world where you go to work, especially to collect data for a project or research study.


Fieldwork

Work related to data collection for a project that is carried out in a real-world location.


G

Generic

Relating to a whole group of similar things, rather than to a particular thing.


I

Inquiry

Process of asking about or investigating something.


Instrument

The means used to collect data for your project, e.g. questionnaire. Also called a tool.
