A subject or problem that people are discussing or debating.

Method

Strategy utilised in the collection of data, e.g. survey, interview.

Norms

Rules or expectations that are socially enforced and guide behaviour.

Phenomenon

Something that exists and can be seen, felt, tasted etc., especially something interesting or unusual. An observable fact or event.


Primary sources

Materials that provide first-hand accounts of what is or has taken place.


Principle

A basic idea or rule that explains or controls how something happens or works.


Q

Qualitative

Term used to describe data that is collected using words; written or spoken language.


Quantitative

Term used to describe data that is in numerical form, such as raw numbers and percentages.


Question

A matter that may form the basis for an investigation

Interpretations, analyses based on primary sources.
